What is the MacroMonitor?

The MacroMonitor is the largest comprehensive retail financial-services database and marketing program that has measured, analyzed, and interpreted consumer attitudes, behaviors, and motivations continuously since 1978. It consists of a massive survey database, standard and customized deliverables, responsive customer service, topical reports, encyclopedic reference volumes, executive presentations, work sessions, and a host of ancillary consulting services. No other financial-services research program, syndicated or proprietary, collects as much information about all types of financial products, services, delivery methods, and institutional use. No other program has been trending and analyzing consumer behaviors, motivations, and psychology consistently for as long. No other research program gives you as much data, information, or insight for such a modest cost—it's like having more than $2 million worth of research for less than the price of a single survey!

This comprehensive, holistic approach creates a unique tool for providing critical insight into the decisions that consumers make, especially in light of how financial institutions are expanding the products they offer and the segments they wish to serve. The MacroMonitor combines the best survey-research methodology, in-depth financial-services knowledge, and industry experience to provide you with critical marketing insights. The MacroMonitor uses random-digit dialing to ensure a statistically valid and projectable sample for its 96-page questionnaire. We combine these trendable data with more than three decades of experience working with financial-services industry leaders to provide you with both the strategic guidance and the tactical direction you need to succeed in this volatile marketplace.

Standard Deliverables:
  • The first deliverable is a copy of the Database in ASCII format. (SAS, SPSS, and Quanvert versions are available for an additional charge.)

  • In addition, subscribers receive Top-Line findings. This comprehensive document provides results to every question, including trends from the prior wave. The volume and page number for the custom tabulations are referenced at each question.

  • All subscribers receive two years' worth of Marketing Reports, and have electronic access to the entire history of Marketing Reports, each highlighting a topical issue, delving into some special segment, or exploring various aspects of retail financial services. We encourage subscribers to suggest topics for these reports.

  • The financial Products and Services Analysis reference volume consists of a concise text-and-graphics analysis that sizes the market, trends and analyzes cohorts and socioeconomic strata, and provides directions and implications for each product.

  • In addition, subscribers receive a set of Customized Tabulations in which they define the target populations by which to tabulate all results. Subscribers may select a banner of up to 18 populations; answers to the entire questionnaire are available in a three-volume set.

  • Instead of choosing the 1,700+ page tabulations, subscribers may choose to receive a set of 300+ Customized PowerPoint Slides for which they define up to 5 target populations by which to display data from a majority of the survey's questions. Results are available in both electronic and color hard copy.

  • Subscribers schedule a Presentation of Findings at their convenience in their offices. In addition to selecting a summary of the strategic direction for the entire financial-services industry, subscribers may select a topic of specific interest for inclusion.

  • On-call, Responsive Customer Service is always available to respond to your questions quickly. Our experience, knowledge, and exclusive focus on financial services assure knowledgeable and insightful answers.

  • All 2006–07 MacroMonitor subscribers will be able to access the Top-Line; the Marketing Reports; the Products and Services Analysis volume; the Tabulations run by CFD's Life Stage, Age Cohort, and Socioeconomic Level segment banner; and the Presentation of Findings at a client-only Web site.
