About This Report
Every year, nearly 2000 people gather in Berlin, Germany, for the annual Online Educa conference, making it one of the largest learning and learning-technology conferences in the world. This year, 73 countries were represented because the conference draws professionals from far beyond Europe and brings people together from industry, academia, and government to network and share experiences in learning and the use of technology in learning.
This LoD Travel Report, providing some personal perspectives on the conference, is a result of the networking that took place during the conference when eight of usfour from Europe and four from the United States (including some veterans of many previous conferences and some others who attended for the first time)agreed to collaborate in putting together some personal observations and reflections about what each of us saw and experienced during the conference. This report can be useful for people who have not attended the conference but might be interested in going to it in the future. It can also be interesting for people who have attended, as a way to benchmark their own views about the conference.
We welcome feedback about this report and the program, and we encourage you to contact us with any questions or suggestions.
