On 30 July 2008 at 11:00 a.m. PST, Eilif Trondsen, director of VWW, will chair a panel discussion on the use of virtual worlds for enterprise applications. A workshop will take place at Helsinki School of Economics on 27–29 August 2008, in Helsinki, Finland. One of the sessions will explore new directions and issues related to employee engagement, distributed organizations, and virtual worlds. Session participants will include Eilif Trondsen, director of VWW, and others from Nokia, VTT, Helsinki University of Technology, and Helsinki School of Economics.

During the week of 29 May 2007, Eilif Trondsen gave two seminars in Tokyo (to representatives from more than a couple of dozen companies) and one in Seoul, plus three presentations at company facilities in Japan and Korea. He found strong interest in virtual worlds, but most attendees were less familiar with the use of virtual worlds for corporate applications than are companies in North America. - Participation in Statoil's Second Life exploration
Statoil is Norway's largest oil company and one of the world's top ten largest oil companies. We have been in discussion with several groups that are exploring how they can use virtual worlds, and on 26 July 2007 we saw and experienced what they have done so far in Second Life. - First VWC Viewpoints the week of 23 July 2007
